Tail numbers

How tail numbers are saved to each client, reused on new trips, and removed.
Help Center · Trips

Every trip and expense report has one tail number — the aircraft you're flying. Tail numbers are saved to the client, so next time you pick that client, their aircraft are ready in a list.

Pick or add a tail on a trip

After you choose a Client, the Tail Number field appears:

  • If the client has saved tails, pick one from the list, or choose + Add New Tail Number.
  • If they don't, type it in (for example N818CM). Letters are capitalized and spaces removed for you. New tail numbers are saved to this client when you save the trip.

Changing the client clears the tail number, since tails belong to a client.

Change the tail on an existing trip

Open the trip, tap Edit Trip, pick or type the new tail number, and save. If the trip already has an invoice, read the warning above the save button first. See Edit or delete a trip.

Manage a client's tail numbers

Go to Clients, open the client, and find Tail Numbers. Type a tail and tap Add (or press Enter). Tap the X on a tail to remove it. On an existing client, adding or removing a tail saves right away.

Removing a tail only takes it off the client's list. Trips and invoices that already use it keep it.

The same tail number can be saved to more than one client.

Where the tail shows up

The tail prints on the invoice (as Aircraft) and is part of the invoice number. See Invoice numbers.
