CrewRoo works for contract pilots and crew based in the UK.
Set your country
On the website, choose your Country when you sign up. In the iPhone and Android apps, a new account takes its country from your App Store or Google Play account, so there's nothing to pick. After that your country only changes when you change it, in Profile → Country & Tax Details (moving back to the US with CAD or GBP records needs support). Choosing United Kingdom sets:
- Currency: GBP by default. Each client can be billed in its own currency — a US operator in USD, for example. See Invoice currency.
- Dates: day first (12/10/2026) on screen and on invoices.
- Mileage: miles at the HMRC rate. Change it under Mileage Rate.
- Paper: invoices, receipts and the payment sheet print on A4.
- Addresses and phones: Town or City, County (optional) and Postcode. UK phone numbers like 07700 900123 are accepted.
VAT and your company
Add your VAT Number in Country & Tax Details and invoices to UK clients add VAT at 20%. Clients abroad get "Outside the scope of UK VAT". See GST/HST and VAT on invoices.
Trading as a limited company? Add your Company Number, where it's Registered In, and your Registered Office if it isn't your mailing address. They print at the foot of every invoice, as Companies House requires.
Getting paid
On the Banking Information tab, add your sort code and account number. Add your IBAN and BIC too if clients outside the UK pay you. See Payment details and the payment info sheet.
Subscribing
Outside the US, CrewRoo is sold through the App Store and Google Play at your local price. See Subscribing outside the US.
CrewRoo isn't Making Tax Digital software: keep your VAT and Self Assessment records in your accounting software as well. W-9 and W-4 forms are US-only, so the Documents tab doesn't appear for UK accounts.
